_____ Trip!!!! 2007
Earlier this winter a bunch of my friends from the dorm freshman decided we should have a reunion ski trip up in Michigan (which wasn't much of a reunion considering all the guys are now my roommates and we see the girls often enough). But anyways Katie's family has a place up in the northern part of the lower peninsula, the real northern part, so we decided to head up there for the weekend to do some skiing and some drinking and just hanging out.
The weekend started out well, even though we were on a tight schedule. The car trip itself was 6 hrs, and I left in the later car on friday that didn't get in til about midnight. But we made it in time to meet up with everyone and drink and hang out at Katie's (which is a ridiculously nice lake house by the way). The bad news came this morning when we realized that there was a gigantic storm headed for pretty much the whole great lakes area. The plan had been to ski all day Saturday and head back Sunday, but we decided we needed to leave tonight to beat the weather. So we headed to ski area to try and do a little skiing before we left, but when we saw the prices we realized it wasn't worth the money to ski for only a couple hours before we had to take off. Instead, we just grabbed a fifth of tequila and some margarita mix and headed out to the frozen lake to goof off. Then we sobered up and hit the road.
All told we ended up spending about 13 hours in the car, and we were only at Katie's place for not even 24 hours. Even though it was supposed to be a ski trip, we never went skiing, so we decided to just refer to it as "trip" instead. In the end I had a good time, but unfortunately it didn't work out like we had planned.
Also I went to San Diego last weekend for an Ultimate tournament. It was great, the weather was 70 and sunny every day except the last one. We played alright in the tournament, but not as well as we had hoped.
I think the part of college I'm going to miss the most is going to be caps. I know that once I graduate it's gonna be hard to find people to play with, and that makes me sad.
