I must announce that this journal will no longer represent my only creative writing outlet. I got an email today saying that I had been selected to write a column for the Daily Northwestern. I get a weekly column to basically write about whatever the hell I feel like. Pretty sweet. I'm a little nervous though cause it means the whole school is gonna be reading my writing and analyzing it. But if they don't like it then fuck 'em.

What kind of style should I write though? I seem to go back a forth from serious to goofy in my writing all the time (as evidenced by this journal), and I don't know whether I should try and stick to a style so that I can develop my own personal style, or whether to just be completely random all the time and surprise the hell out of people. If you have any good ideas for columns let me know, cause I have to write 9 or 10 of these bad boys I believe.

Anyways here I am in Colorado after a week of RAGBRAI. It was fun, but tiring, and I'm looking forward to a more peaceful week before heading back to Chicago. Of course with my family that's not happening too well. We've been here a day so far and so far my dads car and us got separated from the rest of the caravan out causing much worrying and confusion, then my aunt and her friend decided they can't deal with the wilderness and decided to return home, only about 12 hrs after arriving, and to top it all off my cousin Keegan and I were fishing today when we accidently disturbed a bees nest. I ended up getting stung about 13 times before I finally was able to dive into the stream and escape. Oh what a relaxing week.

Its supposed to be 100 degrees in Chicago tomorrow, I'm glad I'm not there for that, our apartment is gonna be hot as balls.
