NOTE: This entry contains general spoilers for "Stargate Atlantis." The spoilers do wander all over the place, so do read with caution.

____________

Okay, so I already mentioned how I'm not exactly fond of the new SGA. Well, it seems that New SGA has been renewed for a fifth season. I am well aware of the fact that this makes me a "bad ( Read more... )

I've somewhat watched SG1 off and on since it's been on. Wasn't a diehard fan, but did quickly become one of SGA ( ... )

I ended up watching a lot more of SG-1 than I realized. I've gone through episode lists and would recognize quite a few of them. Now that the series is out on a box set and I have a pretty good site to look them up on, I can catch up even more ( ... )

I didn't start getting episodes of SG1 until after becoming hooked on SGA. I still get the blahs over SG1, but there are still some mighty fine episodes that I never get tired of. 'The Lost City' is number one on my list ( ... )

Really? I'm the exact opposite. I knew SG-1 first, because my mom used to put the episodes on and there was no other television set. Then, I started watching them by myself, because I'd gotten into the habit of doing so and there was nothing else on. When SGA came along, I blew it off, because I am very hit-or-miss with spin-offs. I liked the Stargate cartoon A LOT, but the episodes I saw of SGA were never whole ones. I kept coming in on the middle of a part I'd seen already. Apart from Rainbow being cute, I wasn't interested. Eventually, after avoiding the show and the fiction for it, I gave up and read one of dirty_diana's fics featuring John/Ford, because her SG-1 fics were that good. Now, I'm all hooked like a junkie ( ... )

SG1 didn't grab me that hard for some reason. I'm not sure why, either. Now Teal'c episodes...love those. Christopher Judge is such an amazing actor, IMO. There were times his emotions were so subtle, but still powerful as if they charged through the TV and hit me head on. Then he'd be so intense and everyone better get out of the way. Damn, I loved him for that ( ... )

It didn't grab me right off, either. That was mostly because I was determined to hate it, since my mom loved it. Heh. I ended up loving the movie when I finally got around to watching it all the way through. And definitely! I kind of liked the one Teal'c episode I remember. The one where he moved off base. I did like the ones where he was being wooed back to the SGC, even though the Jaffa needed time and space to do their own thing. And that eyebrow-"Indeed" combo is still awesomeness, after all this time ( ... )

S/H is Starsky/Hutch. Loved the show forever it seems like and have been part of that fandom for a few years now. Inspiration just hasn't been striking all that much lately. I've played with some vids and stories, but nothing that's keeping me up late at night.

Finding it with SGA now. I like Ronon much better now than I did prior to Reunion. I'm hoping we get more Ronon episodes because I think he's one character that needs more growth than just about anyone else.

I'm working on a longish slash one right now. Got some Shep whump in there, but I'm not real pleased with the Rodney angst. Also, I've got a funny one working on the brain. May pull on a friend's arm to get her to do a little co-writing with me since humor isn't one of my strong suits.

Lovin' SGA fandom! :)

Ahh, gotcha. I know exactly what you mean. I adored LOTR and HP, but I don't write loads of fiction for them.

Ever since I started the darned challenge, I've done more for my me/fandom active relationship than I've done with any of my fandoms in ages. I was hoping for the same thing, but I am hoping that we have the same Ronon, too. Joe M. confirmed the dread cutting Joe F. mention in Australia.

Cool! I hope that you're able to work around the difficult parts, because sometimes it does seem to be harder than it needs to be. Hard like you want to give up on it already. Maybe that friend will help you fill out the parts giving you the most trouble.

Hee!

Ronan's an odd one... there are times when I love the bloke, but there are others where he's a bit... boring, I suppose.

(He's also gorgeous, of course. The other guys are good looking, but him... yum, lol.)

I agree with you about a civilian running Atlantis. It made it feel more like a colony rather than a military base. I think that was a big part of why it "felt" different to SG-1. I really hope that doesn't change.
