Back in the saddle

Week three of walking program began today.  After backsliding in multiple ways all Winter, it feels good to be back in the park exercising again.  Heading for 16 miles a week and may make it this cycle.

And then there are the intangibles.  I know roughly where an owl lives now because I can hear its hooting.  In the beginning I would hear responses from another tree.  Those two may have paired up now.  And last night, there was an oriental man with a bag of greens he was picking from the side of the path.  The leaf looked like buttercup, but it was highly aromatic, green on the top and light green to silvery on the bottom - maybe feverfew.  I asked him what it was and all I got was "wort."  He said he was going to eat it and risking a bit I took a small nibble - it had tons of flavor.  It might be feverfew, but I'll have to see how the flowers turn out.

And then there was the ice cream truck playing Christmas carols.  I have no clue, but I did see an ice cream truck running around in the dead of winter playing the usual song virus stuff, so maybe its keeping the universe in balance.
