Yesterday, I went to the library to do some homework for my statistical quality class.
I realized I can do z-scores in my head.
I've decided to use my new found power to improve the MTSG. I dreamed up a new quality analysis for colleges, that no one has concieved of before. What I'm trying to do is figure out how much of the price of a credit hour is used paying for other students. Right now I'm researching CMU and its proving difficult, because of the layering effect of the CMU Promise.
Its also difficult because the university consider scholarships it gives to students as a revenue instead of a cost. Let me say that again...money the university gives students to go here is counted as revenue. Their not matching it against any related cost. Their double counting the value of scholarships in an Eneron sort of way. But, they can get away with it because its allowed under government accounting standards!
I'm having trouble defining how to count a pell grant in the equation too. Much more work needs to be done.
I'm so giddy.
