I went with 
happy_now5135 to see The Lady In The Water. It wasn't good. The pacing was terrible and in most places the film seemed muddled in its own week story line. In my opinion M. Night Shamalamadingdong has no empathy for his audience. What could have been scary scences were funny and what were supposed to be lighter scenes were creepy. Not that chill down your spine creepy, but the characters were creepy. There was no one to relate to. No hero or guild thereof to latch onto and root for. I just sort of felt sorry for everyone.
The cereal box scene was cheesy. The scene where the cereal box kid corrected himself was corny.
