Calling All Writers!
Calling all writers -- the ones who missed the sign-up period, the ones who maybe changed their minds, the ones who want to write but don't dig the pressure!
Now that the writing period of the exchange is in full swing, we come to the unfortunate but necessary task of trying to find back-up writers when the original writer is unable due to real life issues to write their assignment. Are you curious about how many writers signed up? I think the final number was 126. Yeah, wow, can you imagine if even 25% of those writers had to drop out? That's 32 people who wouldn't be receiving a story. Bummer, eh? It's actually quite tragic, what with the holiday season upon us.
And so, we inquire: Draco/Hermione writers, what do you think about writing a back-up story? To you we say, take a request, write a one-shot. Don't stress over the little details or worry about the length, because it's the Christmas season and we are in a giving mood. Bring a little Draco/Hermione cheer to your fellow shipper, who has toiled in the dungeons, slaving over their own assignment, only to be left empty handed for their efforts.
Please reply here, or send us an email at dmhgficexchange@yahoo.ca if you think you may be able to write a back-up story. We're looking for a pool of potential writers who are willing and able to write, if they are needed.
In the Spring Forward with Draco and Hermione exchange, we had 80 participants, and were able, with the wonderful and much-appreciated help of back-up writers in this wonderful fandom of ours, to receive 80 stories. It is our hope that we can accomplish the same here, but the bar is set high and we need your help. Hope to see your name on the list, and to those of you who are currently writing -- please, let us know if you are unable to finish. We would appreciate the opportunity to try to arrange for back-up writers.
