I don't have time to read the story right now (but I plan to!)

I just wanted to say you win best disclaimer ever. :)

Will you believe me if I tell you it was the hardest part to write? lolz... Nah, JK. I'm always like that. But thank you nonetheless. ^^

This was really well done. Hermione's tension and frustration was palpable. The interactions and evolution of her relationship with Draco was interesting, and more importantly, believable. This is probably random and odd, but many moments of this story reminded me of the movie Someone Like You. Every time Draco called her Jane (which I really liked, by the way) especially around a cigarette, I could hear Hugh Jackman saying it. And her breaking down in his arms, frustrated and pissed at her helplessness... yeah, it was a really good story. Great job :)

I could hear Hugh Jackman saying it.

Ok, lolz. Now I picture a blonde Hugh Jackman as my Draco, which isn't bad at all. I totally forgot that was her name in that movie. I'll have to rent it now. It was the one with the cows and she pretends to be the old psycologist right? lolz..

But, anyway, thank you. I try my best. Oy, it was hard; this was in the works for a while! Thank you so much again. I'm kinda new, and this is probably hmm... my third fic, so you make me feel extra happy. Yay!

Thanks again! (I've said that already, but I can't help it)

Yeah, that's the movie. This is only your third fic? Well, it's great, and it's awesome that you're having so much fun with writing. Keep it up!

Thanks. It's actually the third fic I've posted, sorry. I cannot think of the word, but I think people will find it strange that I write it, let alone read it. I never post about it in my personal LJ, only comms... I'm the loon who thinks they'll be defriended for having a fanfic obsession, lolz...

Very interesting... spiffthegirl June 3 2006, 02:27:09 UTC
I loved the angst of this. The way it was palpable, the way it just seemed like everything was drenched in sorrow, pent up anger, frustrations, and the distant need for companionship that they eventually fulfilled with each other.

I also love the noted times, because in my mind they just made it more realistic - two people that needed to smoke, that couldn't sleep, and that emptied their souls at that one time in the day that they're most vulnerable.

I really adored, adored, adored this fic. A lot, great job. (:

Omg, so nice. Thanks. The time issue was one of the hardest parts... Make it random and such. I'm glad you pointed it out because that was kind of difficult; I know it sounds strange, but it was...

Thank you agai, for the review. ^^

I think that was interesting. Do you mention a location at all for the safe house? Coz, August in Britain is generally our hottest month and we definitely don't have Zephyrs or indeed porches, so I figured you had taken us to some other land.
As a rabid anti-smoker, I cannot seem to see to see the plausibility of interactions around smoking, but they happen all the time.
I liked how Hermione had charmed hers odourless. neat. now if she could only make them non-carcinogenic, non-mutagenic and non-toxic, she'd really have a winner on her hands:)

Being an ex smoker I can assure you everything happens over a cig.

Haha! I always do some kind of reasearch when I write... Or beta as well. No mention of the location on purpose; like I wrote in the disclaimer, this was originally going to be turned in for the celebrate the season exchange, but I forgot to sign up, misread the rules. Anyway, I fixed it as best I could to fit since it used to take place in the winter... In the end I just couldn't place it so I left it out XD I said "screw it. I'm the writer! It is my story and if they mysteriously have my local climate, so be it!" lolz...

Thanks for the review though; I appreciate the brit picking, a lot. I hope I did well with the rest. (:

Thanks again!

just curious...but the favorite Hemmingway short, 'Hills Like White Elephants' perhaps? Or at least that's what it makes me think of a little bit.

YES! OMG! I SO love you! I read it a few years ago and it's always stuck in my head when I'm writing; it's how dialogue is supposed to be written, you know? When I get stuck writing dialogue, I just think of that or re-read it and it always helps... Yay! I love you so much for knowing!

Thanks. 'Course the only reason I knew is because I LOVE that story. Great dialogue is my favorite thing, even if it's inner dialogue. Plus, Hemmingway is so subtle, the conversation is just so realistic and poignant that I always feel like I stepped into this private moment, which is perfect. I think that's how good dialogue should try to make you feel.
