Voting Time!

So, this weekend I worked as a writer and script supervisor on the set of a movie. While it was definitely an interesting weekend, in the 36-hour span from 9am Saturday through 9pm Sunday, I spent a total of 31 hours either on location/set (19), in post-production (1.5), in a production meeting (3), in auditions for the next play I'm directing (4.5), or in transit to all of the above (3+). I literally was on set from 9am Saturday until 4am Sunday. (This is on top of working a 60+hour week Mon-Fri at my regular job!)

So, while I apologize for the delay, I hope you can understand.

Mod Note: It can be difficult for a participating author to vote when we have only a few drabbles submitted. In light of that, I am amending Voting Rule #2, below: If four (4) or fewer drabbles are submitted, authors are NOT required to vote, though they are welcome to do so if they choose.

Voting rules:
1. Do not vote for yourself, and do not ask others to vote for you.
2. (please see amended rule, above) If you participated in the challenge this month, then you are required to vote! If you do not have an LJ account, please comment with your vote so that it will be counted! Failure to vote will result in me not counting the votes for your drabble.
3. Vote for one MOST, SECOND, and THIRD favourite drabble. Votes for multiple drabbles in any category, or failure to fill out a vote for all three will result in a disqualified vote.
4. Please vote for the NUMBER, not the title, of each drabble. (Voting for a drabble by title AND number is acceptable; voting for the title only is not and I WILL NOT count votes that are done by title only.)
5. Remember the prompt for this month while voting- cupboard.
6. Voting closes 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Friday, May 20th.

Results will be posted early next week!

"A broom cupboard, really Granger?"

"Well what do you expect? I would have chosen the library but I don’t want to be seen talking to -"

"Talking to Draco Malfoy? This has to stop Granger. You need to tell Saint Potter and the Weasel you’re you know … with me."

"With you Malfoy?"

"Yeah that we’re, er … studying together. I’m tired of making excuses."

"Excuses? They’re our exams! The single most important part of the year!"

"I’m tired of meeting you in places we can’t even use our books."

Hermione’s cheeks flushed, “It doesn’t … look right does it?"

“No Granger, it doesn’t.”

She ran around a corner and slipped into a nearby broom cupboard. She listened in the quiet for footsteps outside.

"Fancy meeting you in here, Granger," Draco's voice drawled from the shadows.

"AAGHH!" she yelped, startled and heart pounding a mile a minute. "Dammit, Draco, are you trying to give me a heart attack?"

"If it would help Slytherin win the House Cup, then I would say yes. Unfortunately, that would probably lose us points."

"You think?"

"Yes. Anyway, tag -- you're it."

"AARGHH!"

Slytherin may not win this year, but Draco was definitely winning at this new points-based tag game.

“WHAT THE HELL’S A BED DOING IN THE BROOM CUPBOARD, MALFOY?!”

Moments earlier

“You’re out of bounds, Malfoy. I’ll have to report you.”

“Well, you are a prefect, Granger.” Draco moved closer.

“New books!” she exclaimed. “I smell new books... Ink. And...”

“And?”

“An autumn breeze.”

“D’you like it?”

Granger closed her eyes, and inhaled deeply. “Mmmmmm.”

“D’you have to report me straight away, Granger?”

“I should.”

“But...? Maybe we could talk first?”

Granger raised the huge, brown eyes that always made him want things, good and bad. “Yes, I’d like that,” she said, dreamily.

Draco opened the cupboard door.

Hermione let out a shriek as she was pulled into what she assumed was a broom cupboard. A hand covered her mouth as she felt a body press up behind her. "Hello, love," a familiar, husky voice greeted her.

She stopped struggling, reaching up and pulling his hand from her mouth. "Merlin, Draco, you scared me!"

He chuckled in her ear. "Sorry, love. It's been awhile since we've had any time to ourselves so I thought I'd steal you away for a moment."

Hermione turned, smiling at Draco. "I like the way you think." She arched upwards, kissing him fervently.
