December Voting!
Voting Time!
Mod Note: It can be difficult for a participating author to vote when we have only a few drabbles submitted. In light of that, I am amending Voting Rule #2, below: If five (5) or fewer drabbles are submitted, authors are NOT required to vote, though they are welcome to do so if they choose.
Voting rules:
1. Do not vote for yourself, and do not ask others to vote for you.
2. (please see amended rule, above) If you participated in the challenge this month, then you are required to vote! If you do not have an LJ account, please comment with your vote so that it will be counted! Failure to vote will result in me not counting the votes for your drabble.
3. Vote for one MOST, SECOND, and THIRD favourite drabble. Votes for multiple drabbles in any category, or failure to fill out a vote for all three will result in a disqualified vote.
4. Please vote for the NUMBER, not the title, of each drabble. (Voting for a drabble by title AND number is acceptable; voting for the title only is not and I WILL NOT count votes that are done by title only.)
5. Remember the prompt for this month while voting- firelight.
6. Voting closes 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Saturday, December 19th.
Results will be posted early next week!

When rage coursed through her veins, at first mostly due to his doing - firelight in her eyes.
When she was outside, laughing with mirth at the snow and the winter - firelight in her eyes.
When she fought for some usually senseless cause - firelight in her eyes.
When he kissed her - and he had done that often since their first, rather unexpected and heated kiss - firelight in her eyes.
It seemed to never die down. That’s why whenever he felt cold or hopeless, he looked at her.
Little did he know that most of the time, her eyes were mirroring his.

Hermione watched Draco carefully, the firelight flickering upon his features. "Are you all right?" he asked when he noticed her staring.
Hermione blushed. "Fine," she replied quietly. "I just hope we find them soon."
"Don’t worry, we will," Draco replied with conviction. "My uncles cannot hide for forever."
Hermione nodded, her heart doing small flips. While she wanted to find the Lestrange brothers quickly, she didn’t mind camping out in the wilderness with her attractive Auror partner.
"I'm glad I was partnered with you for this, not Weasley or Potter," Draco admitted.
"Me too," Hermione said with a small smile.

“Well, that was exhausting,” stated Draco as they brushed soot off their robes.
“Nothing’s more chaotic than a Weasley family Christmas, but it was nice to see everyone.”

“A few were sent your way, as well.”
“Because I am the most dastardly villain they know. I’ve swept you away with my evil wiles.”
“But I’ve heard it’s us women who have the evil wiles.”

They came together in a battle of passion, their bodies merging in the warm glow of the firelight.

Draco tramped down the corridor, swearing under his breath.
It was Christmas, his parents were living it up in Paris, and he was stuck at Hogwarts with all the freaks, the swots, and the Billy-No-Mateses.

He entered the Eighth Year Common Room and stopped short, startled by a gorgeous woman crouching in the firelight, toasting marshmallows.

“Hello, Draco,” she said, smiling up at him, “would you like one?”
Merlin’s balls, he thought, I’m hard for Hermione Granger!
