So, here is an update about Dolly,
The vet called on Thursday at 3:30 pm. (heart jumps) first words out of her mouth is "Everything is okay but.... we couldn't get to her surgery today. We want to hold her overnight at no charge. I am also thinking we will want to hold her over night on Friday as well. I'll call you on Friday and give you an update."
Okay, get a call from the vet on Friday about 5:30 pm. "Everything went well, but we want to keep her overnight. I'll call you tomorrow morning."
Okay, get a call from the vet on Saturday morning, 9 am. "Well, Dolly has a slight fever, and one of the eyes is weaping a bit, so they want to keep her possibly overnight to Sunday. I'll call you this evening."
Okay, get a call from the vet on Saturday evening, about 5:30 pm. "We've tried keeping her in the big kennel, we've tried a crate, we've tried one of the indoor kennels. I don't know what we are going to do with her. We had her out under the receptionist desk all day, and she did really well there. But I might have to send her home with you tomorrow with her IV still in."
Yep, that's Dolly. She is most comforted when she knows people are around. she doesn't have to be in contact, but she wants to be included. They've put her into an examination room for the night with a radio, to see if that will keep her calm enough. They are supposed to call in the morning. They have managed to catch that slight fever, her temp being back to normal. If everything else looks normal tomorrow morning, I suspect they will send her home.
Hopefully this will have been worth it for her.
