New House
Just finished moving house last weekend. Moving house is a complete and total pain and I hate doing it.
We've moved into Athenry proper, and the area seems pretty nice so far. Suitably quiet and all that, but only 5 minutes from shops, bus routes, train and the usual small town local amenities. This also means a shorter commute to work, by about 12 minutes each way, which is great.
Moving house has also highlighted how excessive our stocks of 3 items are: old baby clothes, books and old baby toys. You might think that the clearout should have been done before moving (and you'd be right), but I just didn't have time to do anything other than dump stuff into boxes and drag it along.
Incidentally, vacuum pack clothes bags are the best thing ever.
Also had weird laptop total failure incident. Windows started bitching about being unable to write to a USB device which is not a disk drive, and intermittently blue-screened or failed to boot. Replacing the disk drive (and digging out the ancient and fabled original install disks) solved the problem.
Now to get de good internets sorted out since we are in town (this 3G stuff is pretty rubbish). Considering BT Ireland because I hate Eircom, but open to opinions about the decency of various DSL providers.
