(no subject)
Good Morning Faithful Liverjournalers...
I'm here at work for another fun filled day with NOTHING to do. yipee. While I am confident that I will make it through< i am just not sure exactly what i will be doing.
well - i guess I kinda lied just now...I DO have something to do, but I am dreading it. I don't quite know why...possibly because it involves using the telephone and that is one of my inherent fears. OR, maybe because I am afraid it will not work out right and then I will get in trouble. oie. Anyone want to schedule 3 Project Alert "Booster" lessons in their classroom? anyone, bueller, bueller.
I have the day off tomorrow...but it was NOT easily gained. My agency uses "flex" time meaning that you are only allowed to be paid for 37.5 hours in one week, so if you have to work late one night you have to flex your schedule so that it evens out. This usually requires an "early" Friday or something similar. We also have the option of Comping hours, meaning that we can bank them up and use them later in the year. SO - this pay period I am going to be over by approx. 2 days because of some nights and weekends I have to work. I decided to take this Friday off. NEVER BEEN A PROBLEM BEFORE! so, yesterday my boss comes in to my office saying that if I don't come in on Friday I can't get paid for the holiday on Monday. I argued that the policy says if you call in, that’s when you don't get paid but i could schedule it off. SO, we went to the boss above her (the one causing this problem) who said..."well you have to have it approved...I need to be able to approve your vacation" UMM...it's not a vacation. I don't even technically get a day off because I have to work on Saturday...so she made me fill out a vacation request form and write in " approval to flex time" (which we already have approval for anyway) OIE! What a weirdo! I swear it's the power trip for her. Even my direct boss thought this was a tad odd.
So tomorrow I am going to EMU to help give tours of the new student center, which is in the construction process - I am pretty excited! Then I am going to dinner with Angelina - hopefully I can force her to talk about what she wants to do for her "redo wedding"
I start house sitting for my grandpa and his girlfriend next Monday for 3 weeks...that is going to be interesting. They live at 19 and JOhnR which is not close to work at ALL! I am already having problems getting to work on time, now I am going to have to get up even earlier! yucko! BUT...they live on a little lake, so I plan on spending alot of time on the water working on my tan. we'll see how well that works out.
Okie - better get back to pretending to work.
