Yeah, I guess I've been busy. Not too busy to write, but what can you do, I'm sorry LJ, I'll never leave you again, baby. (Except I so totally will...loser)
So I started my new job at Dr. Scott Rodeo's office in the hospital that I used to work at. So far, I like it. I mean, its not like its a whole lot of fun, but the people are nice, the work is pretty simple, and it keeps me busy 9 hours a day. Except that I lost my voice this weekend, and as most of my job revolves around talking on the phone, I'm a bit apprehensive about tomorrow.
So on Friday I stayed with the twins and we had a night of music. First we were at the Living Room to see my old friend Chris play with this guy Alan Semerdjian. And now one of his songs, particularly one set of lyrics, is permanently stuck in my head. Its kind of annoying, but not really because I enjoy it.
"I tried to walk on water, but I fell right in
I didn't get a chance to see the divine
But I learned how to swim."
Then we met up with Mike and the four of us went down to CBGB's- Laura's future father-in-law was playing with his funk band. It was so great to see Laura and Jason, we have a lot of fun together. And the band was really really great, I was having a great time listening to them. We all wound up staying at Nicole's apartment, and I wanted to go down to the Midnight Express in the morning and have breakfast, but Nikki and Patty wouldn't stop sleeping, and I was sick from the Indian food Nicole and I ate the night before. So Mike and I eventually made it out of the apartment to head home, and that was an extraordinarily long trip, due to trains not running and ferries being late. Oh, and the train's last stop being at the Brooklyn Bridge, so we had to walk from there, and its a decent walk. But it was a really beautiful day, the first we've had in so long, and I never really walk around downtown anymore. I forgot how quaint it is, especially on the weekend when its not full of suits. I also forgot whats it like to not do everything by myself. It was nice to have a companion for the day, even if all we did was take public transportation to the wrong places.
