It was an unusually quiet and peaceful day. In the morning he and Narcissa had apparated to the Somerset coast, taking a long and unhurried walk along part of the 630 mile path. Having been suitably exercised, and having enjoyed a warming meal in a small wizard pub aptop a cliff, he was very contented to spend the rest of the day in his chair reading.
His book was soon resting on his lap. Thankful that sleep had found him, Lucius dreamed of the sea.
He neither saw nor heard the patronus enter the sitting room. The white panther raced around his chair, until it spoke. Lucius' eyes shot open.
"What?" he breathed.
The message was repeated.
Lucius stood and lifted his wand. The Manor gave a gentle, understanding clunk. It would allow him to disapparate. He cast the spell where he stood. There was no time to delay with cloaks, or anything else.
He hoped fervently that there was some misunderstanding, that Draco was not in danger, but the voice that had come from the patronus seemed to deny his hope.
He was going to kill Greyback. He was going to rip his head off. This must be because of their meeting, it must be...and if Lucius didn't get there in time...

But for now he just wanted his son.
"I'm coming Draco," he said aloud.
