December Rain

So the time has cometh to remove the vile and destructive Windows from my hard drive. It will be replaced with the Fedora Core, a style of Linux that I am interested in trying. In order to ensure I am doing this correctly, I have acquired a third hard disk drive in which to place the new OS upon; as well as PartionMagic to change my NTFS slave into a VFAT or similar drive to use in Linux.

If I do manage to notice a change in the speed of my computer toward the faster range, I will be sticking with Fedora. Also, if it manages to be a system I enjoy--all of my future developments will be placed in the Fedora Core. Why, you might ask? Because I feel it is time to advance my knowledge further and try something new. What will happen to Windows? Well, I'll keep a partition of it along with my programs just in case I either need something from there, or I can only play a game or whatever within the Windows environment.

On other news, I have begun saving my future money for a new computer system in its entirety. This system will be godly, and will boast a broad range of features--such as Windows XP Professional and Linux Red Hat and/or Fedora Core. It will be designed for digital editing in the multimedia industry. As such, this will include both graphical, programmatical and musical artistic designs (such events are often quite taxing on a system). With hopes this new computer will have a lot more use than the one I am currently using.

I have decided to start and learn how to do some vector art. I have not been taught how to do any, so I am attempting to create something interesting with my current knowledge of Photoshop and other vector-able programs. My first project was a nude silhouette; my second is a panther that I plan on using for my website design company. My third? I do not yet know. It will come to me in time.

My life has been fairly hectic since the Christmas season begun. Firstly, I work in a retail store; and secondly, there is much more to do than I had originally thought. Since working in the retail environment, I have seen it go both slow and busy; but I must say that due to the hype of the Christmas 'cheer', it is all too busy within my store. I have had my fair share of customer service, most of which is fine; but the odd rotten apple of the bunch always comes along to ruin my day and add to the already stressful environment. At home, the Christmas tree and decorations must be put up (which they are now). On top of that is the shopping. Where do I find time for that when I get off at the busiest time of the day to shop? Somehow, I've managed. I only have a few gifts left to purchase! Thirdly is the gift wrapping. This is time-consuming and a challenge at that, especially when family members like to play creative games with the methods in which presents are given to any family member. Well, needless to say... I've come up with my own creative (nasty) methods of presentation that I'm sure my family will appreciate. Mwaha.

My room has been completely rearranged over the last week or so. I have obtained my dresser set from my Grandma's house and it is now up here. It is brown in color and is a two-piece set. The main dresser has a nice mirror that I have yet to put on, but it is a nice addition. My room now has lights in it! With switches! Yes. Before it did not have any because it is basically just an attic and was lit completely by lamps. Now, after some purchasing and wiring, we have got track lighting and a fluorescent light up here, complete with switches and all. Man is it nice having awesome-looking lighting in a room that was once dark.

I think that is all for my updates (and this was a fairly large one). Enjoy your day!
