It's all happening...
This summer is filled to the brim with things to do - but not bad or difficult things, good things! Things that require a lot of work (like moving into our new house), and things that will bring fun and adventure (like our trip to Scotland!). This weekend we'll still be painting and cleaning, packing and getting ready for the big move two weeks from now (on the weekend of our wedding anniversary). After the move, we'll have to fix up this house and unpack, make the new place liveable before heading to New York in mid-August for a wedding. I'm excited! Then, having left the kids in NY, we're off to Scotland for a week. We haven't been planning our trip very much even though it's looming ever closer, although we generally know what we want - to explore and relax. We're going to do a short walking tour (3-4 days) from small town to small town - which I'm so super excited about! Other than that, I'd like to just explore the country, see some medieval castles and old little streets, hear people speak. Maybe I'll reread Trainspotting to get me in the Scottish mindset (not that our trip will focus heavily on Scotland's heroin scene or really have much to do with the book, but it will get me thinking in the appropriate dialect:)). After Scotland we're back in New York for a few more days before heading home, at which point Roman is off to his first weekend in Edmonton for his MBA. That seems very far away, but at the same time it's all happening. I'm feeling good about this summer!
