New houses

This weekend, Miriam and I went to look at new houses to move into.

We got up around 7am on Saturday to go to Kings Cross and take the train to Letchworth.

As we're paying for tickets, with a cheque (because I really don't have money at the moment, rather than using a cheque because my stupid bank can't get their rears in gear to get me a card...) the guy says, okay...we just need to do a cheque validation.......WTF! Miriam and I look at each other thinking that he's going to call the bank to see whether I really have the money or not. In the end he just gives us the tickets, but Miriam and I spend the half an hour before the train leaves thinking that we're not going to be allowed on the train.

Anyway, we get to Letchworth and I give Miriam a guided tour of the town (which is where I went to school). She loves it.

House 1

Nice, but absolutely tiny! In the middle of nowhere really.

We then go on to Baldock, which we decide to walk because we have Piper with us. I had forgotten how far it is, but it was enjoyable nonetheless.

House 2

Our favourite so far. Think we may put an offer on this one, as we managed to get the landlord to drop the deposit. It's lovely. Has a nice enclosed garden too. Perfect for the dog.

House 3
NOT. EVEN. WORTH. SPEAKING. ABOUT.

Then we spent the rest of the weekend with my granddad at my parents' place, lots of inane rambling from him, lots of rolling of eyes from me.

That's about it, other than I'm enjoying my time off before I start my new job on Monday....woo!
