Brokeback Mountain
Ok, so I finally went to see the famed "Gay Cowboy flick". It was a good film, but I was a little disappointed. Of course, Jake Gyllenhall is always nummy to watch, and when you add Levi's and a black cowboy hat- watch out! I guess I just thought it was supposed to be more emotional. It's definitely not a "girl movie". I didn't even *cry*! And the sex scenes, while one has to appreciate the effort two "straight" actors put into making them passionate, were not doing it for me, although the nervous energy that came through actually was appropriate. I guess I've just seen too much gay porn for it to get to me. It was, however, a *huge* leap forward cinematographically and culturally.
