[09:53] Darice: It wasn't true life support

[09:54] Darice: he's been getting phlegm in his lungs
[09:54] Darice: and he's been sleeping and not coughing it up
[09:54] Darice: also, he's starting to retain water
[09:54] Darice: So they sedated him to put in a intubation tub
[09:54] Darice: tube
[09:54] Darice: oh, and he was breathing shallow
[09:55] Darice: so they put the tube in to suck his lungs, give him better breathing and provide the medicine to reduce the swelling
[09:55] Darice: That doesn't mean that he didn't sacre the heck out of Wanda and Keri by saying "I'm dying, I'm dying" as soon as they walked in
[09:56] Darice: So we also found out the last round of chemo he took - its still working
[09:56] Darice: that's why the platelets and white blood cells have been dying
[09:56] Darice: They said maybe by this weekend they might see it start going away
[09:57] Darice: also: BJ's aunt and her husband are coming in today so that's all 3 brothers and sisters in town
[09:57] Darice: so that will be good
[09:57] Darice: but because he's sedated, his blood pressure isn't holding so they have to put him on blood pressure medicine
[09:58] Darice: So yeah. Went and ran by the vets, fed Gretta her pill, and spent until 6 at the hospital
[09:58] Darice: was able to come home, grab all the wet clothes and put them in a pile out of sight at least. Also, finally made the damn meatloaf we'd been promising to make since Saturday
[09:58] Darice: And got the dryer belt ordered
[09:59] Lori Smith: Big difference between intubation tube for those reasons, as opposed to life support. (Thank goodness.) And I'm glad you all have a reason to explain about the white blood cells -- and it's a good reason. Maybe he'll decide he can get through this after all -- especially after telling them that he was dying.
