Checking on a puppy who's sick.
Getting your stomach upset in the process of cleaning up one of the 5 messes (so far). Last time was mostly bile. One is reminded, thankfully, that babies puke doesn't start stinking right away... ease him into it.
Staying home with the puppy and using one of your two yearly personal days.
Calling and letting me know that they've taken xrays and it may need surgery.
Your heart breaking watching her still be in high spirits and having your thoughts alternate between how much this really does hurt and how much it'll cost.
Nicknaming dog McBarfy.
Half sleeping all night long, trying to hear for a puppy getting sick.
They don't think it's bloat but they took xrays to see if it's something (forgot the name) like her bowels folding up on each other like socks. Would love to hear its just the flu. Really don't want to be in a position to have the money make it hard to say fix her.
A million questions... Could it be the plastic squeaky donut we just got her? BJ tried to tell me early on that she's just a dog and that I don't need to get all hypochondriac-y and go straight to bloat... but that was only after the 3rd throw up.
They have her at the vet office for a few hours while the xrays get developed.
The floors are near spotless now... Three rugs and 5 blankets are in the process of being.
UPDATE: Garbage Belly McBarfy has a SEWING NEEDLE in her belly. GSD:SFJ:LSD. Didn't see signs of bloat or intestine issues. Vet thinks it hurts to eat so she's being prepped for surgery right now. Freaking dog and freaking owner for leaving a sewing needle out.
... I'd kill my little Garbage Tummy McBarfy if she wasn't already worth a mortgage payment
UPDATE2: She did well in surgery... gonna have a shaved belly and a catheter in her arm so that they can give her more fluids tomorrow... lol, I bet she has a cone tonight too. Libby's gonna LOVE IT!
