Some of us can't help but to jump in feet first, just hoping that everything and everyone else is looking out enough for the both of us. Others get pushed in accidentally because they've been standing on the precarious ledge, unable to make a decision. I hope I'm the former, but I suspect I'm the latter. I'm glad it's all been to a good end so far.
Have begun getting in all the Christmas presents I sent to my house. Included was a Blondie cook book of sorts for BJ that looking at, I don't think he'll really love or anything, but it is of dagwood and it is old, so who knows. I need something small for all my aunts and I need to finish up some craft projects including:
a scarf (waiting on yarn)
two baby hats (not really Christmas presents)
some frames that have pictures that spell out ROMERO for my brother (need to paint or stain the frames)
A wood sign that I need to affix ceramic tiles to that spell out ROMERO (Hopefully for his entryway, need to find something to affix the tiles).
Possibly some placemats with matching napkins for my aunts.
Went shopping for green chile stew supplies, plus the weekly shopping. Brought home so many things BJ loves that he at first thought it was Christmas early and then thought I'd gone shopping stoned. Other people's backgrounds, I guess... I just thought the things were on sale! It is true though... I went for maybe 15 things... then I looked at my coupons and had 20, then I looked at sales and well... $145 later...
[13:26] D Leigh R: hey, how do dogs in the north where it snows all the time get their walks during the winter months?
[13:26] Ange Colley: people walk them in the snow
[13:26] Ange Colley: in. the. snow.
[13:26] Ange Colley: this is why we live down here
[13:27] D Leigh R: wow
[13:27] D Leigh R: I am such a complainer
[13:27] D Leigh R: but they have better clothes right?
[13:27] D Leigh R: do the dogs have like... footies?
[13:27] Ange Colley: i dont think they cloth the dogs, maybe some people do
[13:28] Ange Colley: oh i know, lets text my yankee boyfriend
[13:31] D Leigh R: yankee boyfriend?
[13:31] D Leigh R: You Texans do realize that you're NOT REALLY a part of the south, just because you sound like it, right?
[13:32] D Leigh R: most places consider you, gasp I know, the southwest
[13:32] Ange Colley: oh well technically i grew up in tennesse, and that is the ass of the south.
[13:32] Ange Colley: hah no don't tell texans that
[13:32] Ange Colley: actually, dont tell texans they're anything but texans
[13:32] D Leigh R: Oh I will
[13:32] D Leigh R: via my lj
[13:32] D Leigh R: "yall" need to be schooled.
Best, most succinct info so far: (from
netty2)
I just read about walking your dog in the winter…they say to feed them a little more (maybe) to build up a little more fat. For puppies and small dogs they suggest a coat or sweater because puppies can’t regulate their heat yet, and small dogs, or dogs with thin coats can’t. Also, if it has snowed and there is salt or ice to use booties so they don’t cut their foot and get an infection. They also suggest paying close attention to the feet, and to always wipe them off when you go back inside so that none of that will happen.
How I'm doing/Main Topic:
oinks!
HAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHA
A bit about New Mexicans and their obsession with their chile
I'm bringing over green chile stew and masa to make tortillas...
If you have a rolling pin that looks like the top most one (without any handles) be sure to bring it so you can help roll out tortillas. The ones with handles aren't awesome.

Hey there!
What should I bring to go with this? Cornbread? Coleslaw? Let me know!

me:
BWAH... Jaime just brought my attention to the coleslaw suggestion.
huhlarious! I don't think, as a nearly lifelong New Mexican, that I had coleslaw ever until college... wait... does KFC count?
Kaitlyn:
I've never had green chili stew and masa! when i typed it into Google images this is one of the images that came up!
http://beekeats.files.wordpress.com/2009/08/100_5992.jpg Hence the coleslaw suggestion. I do like some coleslaw with my KFC! whooowwweee!! ;)
(really, i was just trying to stay away from beans and rice....first thought when it comes to mexican/tex mex food!)
I'll just bring some shredded cheese! ;)

Jaime:
Do not confuse chili with chile or you will greatly upset our N.
Mexican brethren. Therein lies the problem with your search results.
Also your link is a review of eating green chili stew in Texas. This
is also apparently a great sin-- 1. it's Texas 2. They spelled it
chili therefore it cannot be trusted.
And all I'm saying is stew with cole slaw. eWWWWWWW.
me: THANK YOU... did you SEEEEE My restraint?
I was getting shakey over here from the sheer strength I had to put into not typing all that you just typed.
Here's a link, but I'm sure I'll find one that better paints the picture Jaime summarized:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Mexican_cuisine One thing Jaime did forget that BJ continues to piss me off with: Although it's a true statement, do not add the word "Sauce". Ex: Oh, it's the red chile sauce you love so much.
P.S. Your description was hilarious, fun, and not at all the route I would have taken, hence the restraint.
Jaime:
Good choice with the restraint. Kaitlyn is a derby girl. ;)
me:
HA! Very true! I need to remember that and use it to my advantage ;-)

Confessions:
Guilt = not taking Gretta on a walk in at least a week.
It's been about 2 weeks now that BJ and I are having to talk each other out of calling in to work.
Thankful:
I am thankful for...
... a walk in shower for a much needed dog bath.
