So, I haven't posted in ages and that's because RL has been giving me the ole stink-eye.

Short of it: I got laid off in January after 10 long, dedicated and loyal years.

Long of it: Meh. It was bound to happen since there were numerous and I mean numerous layoffs throughout the years but cripes. The company merged and there were alot of what you call 'redundancies' and I knew my number was up. Again, meh. Nope, not bitter--just unemployed. A wise friend explained to me that I had been quite miserable for the past 2 years (being taken out of the field that I loved to do and was quite good at, mind you) and this was a chance for a new start. Whoever said that "looking for a job is a job," is so fucking right. My brain is just frazzled at the end of every day. I want to work, man. Anyways, I'll be fine, I know and I did receive compensation so I've got that working for me.

So, on to bigger and better things--

LOST. Why do you hurt me so? I mean, seriously?????

Watched a few movies lately:
Michael Clayton--wow. So good.
30 Days of Night--meh. To tell the truth, I was disappointed and I was so waiting for this to come out.
Rocket Science--indie goodness.
Gone Baby Gone--um. Am I just really not too quick on the uptake?
American Gangster--and why exactly was Ruby Dee nominated? Is it because she's Ruby Dee? Srsly, she's in it for about 8 mins. That's about 15mins less than Marky Mark's part in The Departed. But, since it was Marky Mark--slurp-- I forgave.
Rendition--good but troubling. And yes, I'm aware that rendition is and has been rampant on the US front for far too long.

FYI-- All you 80s new wave/alternative fans--news on YAZ Reunion Tour:

Needless to say, I am so envious of the CA, NY, and ILers. At least The Cure will be here in Dallas 6th June 2008. Oh, Robert. *face palm* Flicks lighter.

Anyone heard of Green River Ordinance? If you like Matchbox20/Maroon 5 (which M5 grates, IMO)--you'll like GRO. check them out: http://www.greenriverordinance.com/
They're a local Ft Worth/Dallas band and pretty damn good, IMO.

The weather here is absolutely killing me. I'm pretty much a petrie dish most of the year but with 70s one day and then 40s-50s the next, it's impossible to stay healthy. It was 37 degrees here yesterday with light flurries and 75 and balmy on Sunday. Come the fuck on. *sneeze, cough, repeat*
Yeah, yeah, I know, try living in Chicago, Canada or wherever.

My apologies to the many birthday wishes that I haven't extended--Happy Birthday and I hope it was a great one!! *waves and hugs to all*

I voted today. For Barack, thank you very much. Yay me! Here's to hoping that Barack Obama takes Texas!!

PS...I think I'm in love with Anthony Bourdain.
