...in my dreams.
We caught a midnight flight to Balad. The air force took us on their C-170s and C-13s... the unit was split in half and some arrived around nine. We got in at 3 am or so though. Tired. They let us take our carryons to housing and sign for the stuff we'd need. We picked our bags up in the streets near our trailers eventually... after breakfast at 6 am. I finally got to sleep at about 7 or 8 am. Amazing. I usually have trouble sleeping in a new place... but I dropped dead on the twin matress before I even put my bedding on.
Later that afternoon I managed to go visit the unit we're replacing and find out when they wanted my people to start showing up for training. My section was the only section that knew when and where they were supposed to be the next day because everybody else thought we had an extra day to acclimate. *laughs* Already I'm proving what an awesome Officer In Charge (OIC) I'm going to be.
