...milky twilight

Congrats to Maidenofcoffee, the Chirps' newest bookkeeper!

Friday - I managed to drag everybody to see the University of Puget Sound's production of "Kiss Me, Kate" and thus proved to my roommies that musicals CAN end happily or without anybody dying. I think they were a bit concerned after I introduced them to the genre using Phantom and Rent. *laughs* Afterwards, went for a walk down Ruston Way and looked (not too carefully) for seals or otters swimming off the pier on what felt to my like a strangely warm night. Maidenofcoffee insisted later that it was freezing. *smiles coyly* Go figure. The walk concluded with a stop at the Ram for a drink and casual conversation. The mudslides at THAT particular Ram are excellent as always. I didn't get home until about one am. Still didn't feel cold to me. :-D

Saturday - I slept in. And Foxcoll and I went on an insane DVD shopping spree. Mostly we stocked up on Anime. I grabbed a couple more musicals... Caberet and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (The musical that proves you've got to be a REAL man to be in a musical!) I swear, Maiden was going to leap over the counter and... well... let's just say she was very excited to hear we now owned the entire collection of Monty Python's Flying circus. Back home, he and I got through 5 episodes of Misaki Chronicles... it was entirely not what we were expecting (For starters, I was definately expecting more skin or clutzy girls stumbling all over themselves like Sailor Moon); instead we wind up with a person's spirit is bound to a ghoul who starts time traveling to attempt to set the world right in HER mind... while the spirit of her younger? older? self keeps trying to stop her and guide the time cops to her. So weird. I'm suddenly dying to see the rest - a pity we only got the first 5 episodes. Foxcoll and I returned to Maiden's work after depositing our purchases and helped Maiden clean up for THE LAST TIME AT HER EVIL JOB. It turns out that one of her patrons found out that she was quitting that very day and immediately offered her a job and a raise! Best of all: It can be part time so that she doesn't have any more evil conflicts with school.

Sunday - More sleeping in. Yummy brunch. We watched much Anime and Monty Python for study breaks while I occaisionally stepped in for tutoring. After Foxcoll was banned by himself and me from buying anything else for at least a month... I went ahead and ordered the rest of Babylon 5. *squee!* SHHH! Don't tell my roomies. They were on special at Overstock. I caved. *bounces around with excitement*

To do: I really need to spend more time reading for my business class (Dale Carnegie Based). The books are great - practical and very uplifting; I just need to set aside the time to do it. I'm doing great just completing/preparing my assignments ahead of time. But our session 8 topic seems like it's going to have the most impact on me if I get caught up. We're already on session 4 this week so I'm running out of time. *laughs* Guess I've just got too many songs stuck in my head.

weekend update, to do
