Here, here! I will forever thank my father that he insisted I read Brave New World before I read 1984. I remember asking him, after I finished 1984, why people thought 1984 was scarier. I believe his answer was something along these lines: 1984 is more terrifying because people realize that 'Big Brother' is watching and yet they can't do anything about it.
My 10 year old self then replied: but in Brave New World the babies aren't even allowed to realize that there could BE a different type of world.
I still maintain that Brave New World is the far more relevant book. And while it did take you until college to read it, I'm glad that you have. I will never fault a person for taking a long time to read a book... so long as you DO read it. :)
