This weekend, I went to
The Sausage Shoppe, at W. 45th & Memphis in Old Brooklyn. After seeing it featured on Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations: Cleveland episode (why didn't I hear about this place before then?!?!?) I decided to pay them a visit.
I walked away with about $30 worth of Andouille, Kielbasa, 2 different kinds of Italian Sausage, 95% lean Sirloin, and Horseradish Mustard.
The quality of the meat, the taste, and the obvious loving care in which the meats are made is indescribably good. It is worth every penny, and I will never buy store-bought meat again.
The owners (Norm & Carol Heinle) are warm, helpful, and more than willing to educate those who don't know much about the different meats they carry.
If you ever find yourself in the Cleveland area, make sure to pay them a visit!
