Unclaimed Veterans funerals are done monthly for all "indigent veterans" of Southern California.
Apr 22 - Maj Esther Hermanski, USAF (ret) Maj Hermanski was a flight nurse during WWII and her relatives said she logged more flight hours than most pilots.
Apr 25 - LtCol Frank Novi, USAF (ret) LtCol Novi was a bombardier whose last combat flight during WWII was over Japan. During that flight, his family says that his pilot called him up to the cockpit - to see the mushroom cloud over Hiroshima; he had been bombing in a seperate area. He spoke to his family at how it looked like the black and white pictures, but only with LOTS more color. After WWII he served through the Korean conflict in various staff positions.
