A Day at the Beach. With chloeas and need2speed.

It had been over a year since he'd last been in Star City, and longer than that since he'd been to his penthouse there. He unlocked the door and stepped aside to let Chloe and Mia in first. "Make yourselves at home," he told them, following them and shutting the door, a grin on his face

It had been a very short notice for her to pack and during half of the trip, she kept listing things she might have forgotten in her head. She seemed to have remembered everything so far, but she knew something would come up.

She had only been to Star City once before, and it hadn't been under the best of circumstances so she was looking forward to actually seeing some of the city this time.

Chloe wheeled her suitcase in and looked around, she hadn't actually been in the penthouse before and she expected it to be pretty much the same as Clocktower, but there was something more... home-y about it, "pretty nice," she commented, turning to Oliver, "I'm surprised at the amount of furniture and decoration," she teased.

Everything Mia owned pretty much fit into one duffel bag, which was currently slung over her shoulder as she entered the penthouse and tucked her new sunglasses on top of her head. "Nice digs," she admitted, unwilling to show any more excitement than usual, even if she'd practically been bouncing off the walls since Oliver proposed the trip.

She'd never actually been on vacation before. Running away to the big city and getting recruited by a pimp didn't exactly count as a holiday. Still, she had to try and be cool, right? She couldn't go around grinning like a five year old at everything just because they were in Star City.

"I get my own room, right?"

Oliver turned toward her, a smile still on his face. "Of course." Frankly he was feeling a bit like a five year old himself. He motioned for her to follow him down the hall, opening the door to one of the guest rooms, and then the other. "Whichever one you want."

"You get first choice, Mia," Chloe told her with a smile as they walked towards the bedrooms.

It wasn't hard to tell that both Mia and Oliver were excited about the trip and while she felt herself wanting to reach into her pocket and check on the Watchtower via her phone every five minutes, she couldn't help but feel a little more relaxed already.

She looked over at Oliver and nodded, smiling slightly before looking at Mia again, "exactly, nothing else." She smiled a little more and shrugged, straightening her back, "so, ice cream first?"

Mia gave both of them a skeptical look. Then she imparted her advice on the subject. "You should hook up, might be good for you."

And then she was walking towards the door. "Beach first, I want to catch some sun before it gets too late in the day for tanning."

Oliver blinked a couple of times, watching her go with a slightly bewildered look on his face. Then he looked at Chloe with raissed eyebrows. "Beach it is," he said with a small smile.

Her eyes widened and she just stared at Mia as she walked away then glanced at Ollie, pursing her lips together and following them out of the penthouse.

Mia was half out of the water now, knees kicking water everywhere as she moved towards Chloe, hand outstretched and ready to grab her by the arm and drag her in. "There's no sense in resisting," she sang. "You're not allowed to miss out on family fun ti-"

It was out of her mouth before she realized it, and she froze immediately after she said it, eyes wide and staring.

Oliver paused for a moment at her words, then turned and offered her a gentle smile. "She's definitely not," he agreed, knowing Mia wouldn't want them to make a big deal out of her words, no matter how much she may have meant them, and no matter how much he may have agreed with the sentiment. "Let's get her!"

Chloe blinked and stilled at Mia's unfinished sentence, her chest tightening slightly, but like Oliver, she didn't want to make a big deal out of it, "I'll come peacefully," she told them, looking at Oliver for a second then turning around and throwing her sandals on the sand, followed by her dress before turning around and starting into the water.

It was a few seconds before Mia could breathe again, but Chloe bending to toss her sandals away seemed to break the tension. She watched Oliver warily for a while, just to make sure things weren't going to suddenly be weird just because she said the "f" word. When nothing happened, she relaxed and waded back into the water, floating on her back.

"Oh I can handle you," Chloe teased, doing her best not to think of the fact that there was a lot of skin touching skin right then and smirking as she saw Mia moving around out of the corner of her eyes.

"Go for the neck!" Mia shouted helpfully from her safe vantage, a wide grin stretching her lips. "I think he's ticklish."

He cast a mock glare over at Mia, then looked at Chloe once more. "I may be, but so are you," he told her, reaching down to tickle her side.

Chloe gasped and squirmed in his arms, for the first time actually making any attempt to get down, "hey, it was her idea, why are you taking this out on me?"
