Oliver sat on the sofa in Watchtower, staring at the lit-up Christmas tree. His mouth was tugged down in a frown that hadn't left his face since the night before when he'd arrived back after getting injured on patrol. His arm was in a sling thanks to Chloe and a brief visit by Dr. Emil, who popped his dislocated shoulder back into place and told ( Read more... )

No, he wasn't happy, she didn't blame him, she knew how frustrating it would be for him to not have anything to do the whole week, at least not league-wise, so she was planning on fixing that.

She had picked up some movies on her way home, but she knew it wasn't going to help a whole lot so she had a few more things planned.

Chloe walked into the apartment and wasn't surprised to see Oliver exactly where she had left him, same pout of his face, it was kind of cute.

"I got movies for later," she said to catch his attention.

He glanced up at her, pout still firmly in place. "Oh," he said, looking at the tree once more. He laid his head against the back of the sofa and heaved a sigh.

"You were gone awhile," he commented.

"Yeah, I also brought work and I'll need your help," she told him firmly, setting a big folder on top the main desk as well as her purse and the bag of movies.

"How are you feeling?"

"Fine," he said without hesitation, sitting up quickly at the words 'work' and 'help.'

"What'd you bring?" he asked, rising to his feet and moving over toward her desk.

"I definitely am," he agreed, holding her gaze for a moment, then glancing down at the folders. "All right, should we divide them up?"

With a soft smile, she held his gaze for a second, at least he wasn't pouting anymore, "works for me, each folder is for a week, news from all over the country as well as a few international papers."

"Impressive," he said sincerely, glancing at her again. And it was. It was one hell of an undertaking. "Maybe once we start getting them organized by MO's we could put up a board with locations and tack them up there. Might make it easier to see what we're dealing with."

Chloe raised her eyebrows and nodded, "that's a great idea, we can narrow it down by MO and location, figure out if we should expect one or more people, and hopefully, we will have some answers."

At that, he couldn't help but grin, setting the article in a pile he'd dubbed Northern US.

Cocking her head a little she watched him, "what?"

He paused and looked up at her again. "I like the confidence you have these days," he told her seriously. "It's refreshing."

With a soft smile, she shrugged a shoulder, "It's the one thing that can't really go wrong, those people are already helping others, being a part of our team, with the heroes that probably inspired them in the first place, would only help them save even more lives."

The look on his face made it pretty impossible for her not to smile, "I've never been so I'm sure it will be interesting, although, I should warn you, I have never skied or anything before."

He grinned at that. "Well, I don't know if I'll be up for skiing by then, but sledding isn't out of the question. Tell me you've at least been sledding, Sidekick."

Shaking her head, she shrugged a little, "you've seen how flat Kansas is, right?"

He chuckled. "Valid point. We're going to have fun," he informed her.
