Oliver's mind had not been on work the entire afternoon, especially when he'd gotten a message from Chloe stating that Stuart had woke up, and that she was going to go talk to him. His stomach was tight with unease as he waited on the doorstep. It never felt right to just barge in on her. Watchtower was her place, and while she'd always made it ( Read more... )

His eyes widened a little and he looked at the monitor. "Good plan," he murmured, impressed. As much as he wanted to believe that Mercy wouldn't come after Chloe for what had happened in a version of the future that wasn't going to take place, he wasn't certain. The more they could learn, the better off they'd be.

With another glance at him, she began typing, eyes back on the screen as she tried to make her way through the firewalls that kept popping up. If Tess was going to try to kill her to prevent her own death, the more she knew about it, the easier it would be to stop her.

He watched her work for a long time, silent and waiting. Then he took a seat at the other end of the desk, picking up a stack of files he hadn't gotten all the way through earlier.

It had taken her a long time, so long apparently that by the time she was done, it was already dark out, with a deep breath, she blinked, watching as the files were downloaded to her server, "I got it."

Her voice was tired as she took a step back then looked over at Oliver, if he had moved at all, she hadn't noticed.

He'd read so many pages of the files that by the time she spoke, he was getting a headache, which he assumed was from eye strain. He glanced over at her, then his eyebrows furrowed as he realized that it was now dark outside.

"Let's take a look." He rose from the seat, stretching, then moved over to stand beside her.

Chloe nodded, opening the files as the download finished and closing all connections to Belle Reve before moving to the touch screen on her desk and setting up the images on a slide show in sequential order, "that's Zod's symbol," she told him, glancing at him before looking back at the screen.

He nodded slightly, watching the screen intently. "Those are the towers Clark mentioned," he murmured, studying them.

Her eyes widened as she frowned, pausing on an image and zooming in, "that's... Metropolis, or what is left of it."

Oliver grimaced at the next few images, all of what was left of Metropolis, which frankly, wasn't much. The city was in ruins, and everything had a sickly red hue to it. "Bleak," he murmured.

Chloe raised her eyebrows, smiling slightly and glancing at him as she pointed at the screen, "look, on the far right." The Watchtower was intact in the middle of the what looks like ruins.

He raised his eyebrows, as well, wondering how she'd managed to pull that one off. He glanced at her curiously, a small smile on his lips.

She smiled a little at him, no doubt that if they were fighting together, this would be their headquarters.

Turning back to the screen, she watched a couple more images as they went by, "is that the mansion?"

He drew in a breath and let it out slowly. "Looks like it to me," he answered, staring at the image for a long moment. Zod's symbol was all over the place, on flags draped over the roof, on the rugs. "Appropriate that he took over Lex's place," he mumbled.

Chloe nodded, smirking slightly as she glanced at him, "very much so, one megalomaniac replacing another." A few seconds later, she frowned, "is that Clark?"

He studied the image for a moment. "Yeah, I think it is," he murmured, his eyebrows furrowing.

Frowning more, she watched the next image, suddenly there were a lot more people in the room, she didn't expect things to make a lot of sense since they were just images from Lois' subconscious but that had been sudden, "are those Kandorians?"
