Oliver waited. He was already in full Green Arrow attire, and loaded up with weapons. His arm ached a little, but he ignored it. He stood on the balcony of the clocktower, staring out over Metropolis.
He forced his mind to go blank, his breathing to stay calm and steady. He had to be on top guard tonight, for Chloe's safety. He'd contemplated briefly--very briefly--going without her. But he'd dismissed the notion as quickly as he'd considered it. There was no guarantees she wouldn't just show up on her own anyway. Better they go together and watch each other's backs.
