Uninvited Guests with chloeas

The sound of loud knocking stirred him from his relatively peaceful slumber--something he didn't tend to get a lot of these days. Between long hours at Queen Industries and his nightly patrols as Green Arrow, he was lucky if he managed to get five solid hours of sleep. And most of the time those hours weren't spent in a peaceful resting state. ( Read more... )

The noise had woken her up, she frowned at the Chloe, they had been in bed for over three hours already, her first though was that it could be Clark, that something had happened, but Clark didn't knock and if he did, it was just a warning knock before he used his keys to the apartment.

She wrapped a robe around herself and walked towards the door, not turning any of the lights on, she frowned then they knocked loudly again and then heard Jimmy's voice, "Chloe?"She sighed and shook her head, "damnit."

"Seriously?" Oliver grumbled, rubbing a hand over his face again and trying to wake up a little. He rose to his feet and stood back a little.

When Chloe opened the door, Jimmy nearly fell into the apartment. "Hey, there you are." He grinned at her, his eyes glazed. "Bet you thought I wasn't coming."

"More like hoped you weren't," Oliver said under his breath, rolling his eyes, not impressed by Jimmy's inebriated state.

She looked over at Oliver then back at Jimmy, shaking her head, "did you drive here?" It had taken him about four hours to make the two hour drive and considering he could barely stand, Chloe didn't see how he could have made it there at all.

"I hitchhiked," he admitted with a grin, not noticing Oliver at all. "Had a drink or two too many. Didn't want to drive and risk it." He wrapped an arm around her shoulders. "Glad I'm here, right?"

Oliver looked up at the ceiling, shaking his head slightly, feeling a combination of annoyance and pity toward the other man.

"Actually," Chloe reached for Jimmy's hand and pulled it away from her shoulders, "I tried calling you to tell you not to come since I have company." She knew there was no way she could send Jimmy back to Metropolis right now, but it was time he realized this couldn't happen again, which was why she stressed the last two words.

Blinking in surprise, then confusion, Jimmy looked over at Oliver, his eyes widening slightly.

Oliver smirked a little and slowly crossed the floor to Chloe's side, sliding an arm around her waist. Just to make sure Jimmy got the picture--even if the picture he was painting wasn't accurate at all. "She's not interested."

"You two are..." He looked stunned.

Oliver shrugged and pulled her a little closer, giving her a slight, affectionate squeeze.

As much as she hated to do this to Jimmy, she was grateful for Oliver's move, that was probably going to be the best way to get rid of him, or at least to successfully manage to make it clear to him that all she wanted from him was friendship, they worked together after all.

"Look, Jimmy, I'm not gonna let you get back to Metropolis like that, but these calls need to stop, you understand?"

Jimmy eyed Oliver, not looking pleased. "Got it," he mumbled, looking a little green. Whether it was from the sight of Oliver with his arm around Chloe, or the alcohol or a combination of both wasn't clear.

Oliver glanced at Chloe for a moment, then back at Jimmy. "You need to sleep this off." He moved away from Chloe, then motioned toward the sofa. "Go on."

Jimmy trudged to the sofa without a word and laid down, not even bothering to take off his shoes.

Sighing softly, Oliver met Chloe's eyes and shrugged a little.

Chloe looked back towards the couch then at Oliver, nodding a little, "thank you." She rubbed her face a little then looked over at the bed "I'll try not to kick hard?" Her voice was low so Jimmy couldn't hear it.

His eyebrows furrowed slightly, then he realized what she was implying. He ducked his head a little, lowering his voice, as well. "It's all right, Chloe. I've probably had enough sleep I can drive back." Then he looked over at the man on the sofa uncertainly, frowning. "Although I don't feel right leaving you here with a drunk guy," he admitted.

She frowned a little and shook her head, "We didn't sleep long, you need to get some more rest and I don't mind." She paused and grinned a little, "better you than him." She nodded towards the couch.

He couldn't help but grin at that. "Well, obviously." He studied her for a moment. "All right. I should warn you, though, I tend to hog the covers," he teased, winking at her.

With a mock sigh, she turned towards the bed and nodded, "figures, I guess I will have to put up with it for tonight." She pulled her robe off and hung it back in place before getting into bed again.

He chuckled softly, following her over to the bed and crawling beneath the covers beside her, already feeling drowsy again. "Well if I steal the covers and you get cold, we could always snuggle up for body heat." He bit back a grin.

"Oh" She rubbed her eyes and turned her head towards him, "of course, snuggling will solve the world's problems." She smirked slowly then reached to turn off the lamp, "night, boss."

"Well, maybe not the world's," he said lightly, laying his head down on the pillow. "Night, Sidekick." He shut his eyes, a grin on his face.
