He grimaced a little. He didn't really want Lois to find out he was in love with her cousin via the media, but if she had, it couldn't really be helped. He sighed softly, moving around the kitchen aimlessly, then leaning back against the counter.
He hoped that she wasn't pissed. An angry Lois Lane wasn't something he wanted to deal with anytime in the immediate future--especially not after what he was referring to, at least in his head, as the week from hell.

Her cousin had been in Gotham for most of the summer, 'improving her journalistic skills', although she had been completely vague about the whole thing when Lois usually babbled on about details, so Chloe had been curious to see if she was going to tell her the real reason why she had gone to Gotham City for almost three months.

It wasn't that he wasn't happy that Lois was returning to Metropolis from wherever she'd disappeared to, but he was nervous about what that could possibly mean for him and Chloe. He knew that the two of them were close--like sisters, and had grown even closer over the last couple of years.
And while he and Lois had remained on fairly decent terms--even forming a tentative friendship--he wasn't sure how Lois was going to take the news.
