Chloe was trying her hardest to move as fast as possible as she worked on the lock, she checked her tiny laptop that was on the floor and made sure the alarm was off before trying the piece of metal once more against the lock, holding her breath then blowing it out when the door finally gave under her hand.

"Okay, Chloe, you can do this," she told herself, holding the door open with her foot and picking up the laptop, shoving it on her messenger bag and pushing her way inside.

She had broken into LuthorCorp facilities several times before, but the Metropolis ones had a much better security than the Smallville ones ever did.

"You know, when most people break and enter it's to steal a computer out of a place, not take one inside."

She stilled completely, her stomach dropping when she heard the voice behind her, swallowing hard, she shifted on her feet and took a deep breath, "which goes to show that's not what I'm doing, I just forgot my keys."

Completely worth the shot, but that didn't mean he was buying it.

"Sure you did. Why don't you tell me what you're really doing breaking into LuthorCorp at Midnight?"

She took a couple steps back, away from him and held on to her bag, giving him a warning look, "why won't you just leave me alone?"

"Because you're breaking the law," he informed her, giving her a look, and moving to her side, picking her up in a fireman's pose, smirking a little as he headed back toward the door effortlessly.

Chloe's eyes widened and she started punching him, kicking and squirming as she tried to get down, "what the hell is your problem!?" She demanded angrily but also scared, he was ruining everything, she was never going to be able to find another opportunity like tonight's when all the employees were attending to a LuthorCorp even in the other side of town.

"This is breaking the law too!" She grunted, punching his back hard, "it's called kidnapping!"

"No, it's called taking you back outside before you actually get yourself into some kind of trouble." He set her down outside the door, folding his arms across his chest.

"My best friend went missing during the last meteor shower in Smallville and I need the LuthorCorp satellite images to see if I can find out what happened to him," she said tightly, taking a step closer and glaring at the much taller man, " but I can't get to them anymore because the labs open at four and that won't give me enough time to take down the alarm again, get in, find and download the files and leave."

"And of course if you had just told me all this to begin with, things would have been much easier, you know?" Shaking his head, he turned around to face the alarm system, punching in a code.

Chloe's eyes widened as she stared at the alarm pad, she glanced at the man again and her eyes narrowed, "you mean when you were accusing me of being a criminal?" She asked, pushing her way past him and into the building once more, "who the hell are you anyway?"

"Sorry. Can't reveal that. It wouldn't be safe," he informed her, following her inside. "Go find your information. Try to be quick. I'll watch the door."
