Oliver arrived early at the diner, picking a booth near the back, and he ordered a glass of tea while he waited for his as of yet unnamed companion. He really had no idea what to expect from this particular meeting, but considering how much the man in question seemed to know about everyone in their little group, he figured he'd better be on guard

Darkseid arrives soon after--also a bit early--and makes his way to Oliver's table of choice without hesitation. A small, rather nonchalant smile is then offered in greeting as he sits down across from him in kind.

"Oliver."

Oliver watches the man sit down, nodding back at him. "How should I address you?"

[darkseidofmoon]

He regards the other man with slight amusement and shrugs briefly.

"For the moment? However you'd like," Darkseid informs him indifferently. "Thus far, 'secret admirer' seems to be the favored choice, though I don't see how it really applies in this case."

He's silent for a moment, studying him. "I think I'll pass on that term," he responds. "Would you like something to drink?"

He tilts his own head slightly and seems to ignore the question for the time being. "What did you mean, then?"

"I think for someone to truly know a person, they have to know you, too." He shrugs. "But that's just my opinion."

[darkseidofmoon]

"It does depend on one's definition of 'knowing' a person," Darkseid replies, regarding the other man thoughtfully. Then he leans forward slightly to rest his elbows on the table. "Though, when it comes down to it, does anyone really know you? There's always that part of yourself that you choose to keep hidden."

Oliver studies him for a moment, considering that. "I think it depends on the person. Sometimes you realize you don't need to keep hiding things. And sometimes you realize they weren't so hidden to begin with."

Darkseid's smile remains in place as he nods slightly and motions for the other man to proceed. "By all means."

"What is it you want?" Oliver questions.

[darkseidofmoon]

Darkseid lifts an eyebrow and will simply study him for a long moment before replying.

Then, "You'll have to be more specific."

[dl_greenarrow]

"All right." He nods slightly and leans in more. "You have all this information about me, about the people I care about. And you've seemed rather intent on letting us know that you know. So. I figure there must be some kind of point to all of this. Something you want or are hoping to gain."

"Perhaps you should discern that for yourself," he replies, taking a sip of his water absentmindedly. "I generally prefer to leave such things open for interpretation."

[dl_greenarrow]

"Apparently that's where we differ. I much prefer things to be clear so there's no room for confusion or misinterpretation." His jaw tightens just a little.

He nods, not appearing overly surprised by that information. "Well, there isn't much mystery or intrigue in that."

"If you know as much about me as you claim, you'll know I already have my fill of mystery and intrigue. Sometimes it's very over-rated."
