The Sing-off Offs OTR

I was going to make a post about the a cappella group Committed, but I took a nap then watched the new episode instead.

I had a feeling On The Rocks was a goner after they were mostly absent from the opening montage then turned in a clunker for the first song.

I bow down to the Backbeats' Lady Gaga medley which they made their own and probably had the smoothest transitions and blend between the songs of all the groups. (I was ready to hate it 'cuz OTR's already done Lady Gaga. Thankfully they used different songs. I liked OTR's version because you can hear Paparazzi and Pokerface behind Bad Romance in some sections. The Backbeats had a bit of that too. That blending is what I want to hear with medleys.)

I also loved Josh's swan song speech and their swan song itself was very high energy and exactly what you wanted from them.

The judges can be kind of annoying on this show (mostly, I have little patience for the talking on the show period) but they've made all the right decisions, including choosing to keep all 4 last groups. All of those performances were beautiful. I loved that Committed showed their depth by seamlessly allowing each member to sing a line in a go around. I loved Streetcorner Symphony's energy. I loved that (again) the Backbeats made "Landslide" their own (which somehow doesn't capture how good it was, but I can't explain it any other way: I'm not Ben Folds). And what's not to love about Jerry Lawson & The Talk of the Town?

So yeah. I have no idea who will win. They're all so good. Based on whose music I would most want to listen to over and over again, I'd have to give it to Committed. I must say I am more attracted to the upbeat stuff. It's just bonus if you can be slow and moving too.
