I suppose if I was in a more neutral mood, I would've really liked Superbowl XLIII. It was an excellent game that neither team should feel ashamed about playing in. Except that I hate Worthlessburger's guts. And the entire now six-time champion Steelers. I'm still sore about the time the refs helped the them knock over the Seahawks.
That said, last year's game was better.
In the Avatar race debates, it bothers me every time they bring up the argument "well, I don't care what color they are, as long as they were the best actor for the job!" Besides the fact that the studio obviously (if not blatantly) didn't try to find the best actors for the jobs, race matters. Race, the sociological phenomenon, is a part of you and a part of me. I'm white, that means something. I'm Asian, that means something. Race isn't all of me: not all Filipinos can sing, not all Asians are good at math or know martial arts, not all blacks are thugs, and not all Hispanics speak Spanish. It's not something you should be judging me on. But you need to keep it in mind. I happen to be able to sing (a bit) and I'm pretty good at math. It's not the whole story, but it's part of it.
