First of all, thank you for offering to write a story for me! I'm sure I'll love whatever you write. These are just some suggestions, in case you need inspiration. Also, this year I've included a bit more detail about what I specifically love in each of my fandoms, if that helps.
In general, I like m/m stories. I am in the over-50 group, so teen angst type stories are right out (I get enough of that from my daughter forcing us to watch MTV shows). I prefer maturity in my characters. I like graphic sex but that isn't everyone's cuppa, so I am quite fine with fade-to-blacks to anything in between. I like kink but I don't demand it, and I don't have a problem with genderbending, mpreg, bdsm, and multiple partners. I prefer happy endings although I don't mind if the characters have to go through angst to get there - I like angst as an appetizer although I generally like a happy ending for dessert. (I like h/c but more comfort than hurt.) I love stories that explore characters - their back-stories, their thoughts, their dreams - so if you don't feel like writing a romance, I am perfectly fine with a gen story about the characters. I really, really dislike character death, partner betrayal, and rape/noncon, although I don't mind kinky games with characters playing at non-con. If you need to see the sort of stories I write, feel free to check out my website. Also, I have tried to update my LJ memories to include stories I enjoy - most of the Yuletide fandoms would be under Misc fandom - and I've made a couple notes with each fandom.
From Eroica with Love - I would love just about anything in it: gen mission, romantic interlude, PWP, character study - I'm easy! I'm a Dorian/Klaus shipper, so I don't want to read about them with someone else in a romantic way, but I'm also happy with Dorian pursuing the Major without catching him. FYI - one of my favorite authors in "Eroica" is Anne-Li . Possible ideas (but feel free to go with your own!):
1) Klaus is injured during a mission and when he wakes up, he thinks he's Eroica. Eroica has to pretend to be Klaus in order to complete the mission - and help Klaus recover his memory.
2) a "Sliding Doors" kind of story, taking a key event in one of the stories and making a slight change, and seeing how that affects the outcome of the story.
3) an "It's a Wonderful Life!" type of story, having a character see how their absence changes events (and for this one, I would be perfectly fine for the viewpoint character to be a minor one - an Alphabet or an Eroica gang member, as long as the focus is primarily on how it affects Dorian or Klaus).
4) I've always been intrigued by part of Anne-Li's story "Deepest Blue" where Klaus is thinking "Tell the fop to 'Just sweep me off my feet already, you lazy idiot! Take me by storm: I won't put up that much of a fight! Show me that you're man enough to handle me and I'll let you!' " So a story with Dorian sweeping Klaus off his nominally-reluctant feet would be wonderful
5) A mission-fic where Dorian has to teach Klaus how to dress in drag to complete the mission. Play it seriously or for laughs, I don't care! Extra points if you get one of them into a corset!
Lewis - I would love to see more exploration of Hathaway - his past, his present, or his future. You can go in the direction the series ended with, or you can keep Hathaway on the force and make him a Detective Inspector, maybe with his own bagman. Even though Lewis wasn't included on the list of characters, I certainly don't mind him being in the story. I don't really want to see either Hathaway or Lewis involved with a woman - sorry, just not my cup of tea. However, Gen is perfectly fine with me, as is slash. Possible ideas (but feel free to go with your own!):
1) I would really love a story about a younger Hathaway in the seminary, possibly flash-backs during a current case
2) Hathaway meeting Robbie's family over some kind of holiday, being introduced to them as his SO and not just work partner
3) parallel story about Lewis and Morse in the past, and now Lewis and Hathaway, or maybe the parallel is Hathaway with Lewis and then with his own DS.
4) an AU in which Hathaway didn't leave the seminary, where he became a priest. And now, as Father James, he is involved in a case as either the victim, suspect, witness, source of information, etc. An unexpectedly easy rapport develops between the two. Can be a purely gen story, or can head into romantic waters. If you do go down the romance path, please do not make light of Father James' commitment to his vows & the Church - be angsty & have no happy resolution if you want, or have James leave the Church over his internal struggle, but don't just have them happily fall into bed together with no qualms or consequences
In & Out - Howard is such a sweet guy, and I love Peter's quirkiness, plus I think they spark. I would love a story about their first time together. Also, when I saw them in tuxes at the end, I thought they were getting "married" and now it's legal in Iowa, so maybe that could give you an idea - Howard's mother would love to finally see him married. Another idea, what if they did get together and Peter decided to move there? How would he - and the town - get accustomed to each other?
Lord John Grey - I am pretty much up for anything as long as John is in it. I am a big fan of this period in history, feel free to play with it as much as you like - war campaigns (I am a big history buff, currently reading stories about the various Germanic wars of this time period) or London scenes (also a big Georgette Heyer fan), I don't care. I'm pretty happy with you shipping him with anyone who makes sense except the jerk from Hellfire club, although what I think would be interesting is a crossover with a character from another fandom -- book, movie, TV show, whatever - or a RL historical character. Romance, adventure, H/C, angst, historical - anything is great!
Possible paths to explore:
1) I would love to see him as a young man discovering his preference
2) Or, alternately, just after his father's murder, when he was packed off for his safety - how did he feel? What were his experiences?
3) Years down the road when he is possibly settled with a discreet lover, either from canon (in the Outlander books) or invented
4) A character-study of Lord John, and in particular, about John and his family. Do they know about him? How would Hal feel if he found out/John told him? What about his mother?
