...as portrayed in Ninja Turtles and Life of Brian.
lol, Great movies right there. I watched Ninja turtles first, because I wasn't sure how my mom would react to the Monty Python Flick. And, once again, I fell in love with the classic. The cheesey jokes, and the kick-ass nijan-stuff once again rekindled a nostalgia of those old cartoons that raised me to be the young man I am today. Transformers, GI-Joes, and Ninja Turtles; the cartoon Trinity to my childhood self...
Autobots fighting Decepticons... Gi-joes foiling Cobra Commander... Ninja turtles eating pizza(Ninja, turtles, pizza... Not often you can use all three in a sentence)... That's what life was about to a 4 year old. So long ago... I miss those days, where you could let the hours rush away on adventures out in the woods where the trees became enemies, allies, and your backyard was a portal to another world.
Sure, I watched cartoons, but that's what got my imagination going; what made me climb trees and start wars, attack neighbors, and track monsters. Now, the outdoors is like a painting; something I can appreciate, but, can't experience, compared to the canvas it once was; full of possibilies, just waiting to be used for something great, seducing you, enticing you, enthralling you.
Now, movies, video games, and this obomination that I'm so dependent on, the internet, is what dominates my life. Imagination takes the back seat on this long road, as I speed through book after book, movie after movie, and spend my excess time on this internet hub which always draws me back like an addict to his poison. But, rather than run away with my imagination, fleeing the world based on instantaneous satisfaction rather than appreciation... I keep on driving.
Which sucks.
Life of Brian was another shining example of Monty Python's brilliance(Stop that!). As usual, it's the sutble jokes that get you, such as, "Bigus Dickus," or 20 crucifees singing "look on the bright side of life" at the end of the film. Of course, their blatant humor is satisfying as well. The Judean people all striving for liberation... but in seperate groups who hate each other, or the complicatedness of the Roman language which still must be followed; even for graffiti.
All in all, a satisfying time-waster, even though time is so unsatisfying to waste. Muahaha, a paradox!!! Yes, DK...the Paradoxer... Bow before me!!!
We shall meet in a place where there is no darkness...
