Good news ALL over... NOT!
WARNING! HUGE rant ahead. I need to get this out before it blows my head off.
For those of you who never seen or heard of 'Roots', the reference in the Subject will mean nothing.
Last week in review:
Monday:
"Second Shift no longer exists, but you will still be working 10AM to 6PM. You will also lose your Shift Differential" This is because ONE person was working 9 to 5 and wasn't getting the extra 35 cents an hour like the REST of us. So, to be 'fair', HALF the employees lost 35 cents an hour instead of ONE person getting a 35 cent raise.
So... 'FAIR', in THEIR book, means screwing HALF the employees, rather than pleasing ONE. Hmmm... Interesting how 'FAIR' hurts the ass... a LOT!
Tuesday:
"We're behind on this customer... so we need to kick it up a notch." OK... So... Cut our pay, then work us harder.
"The beatings will continue until morale improves."
Wednesday:
Insult to injury. My ANNUAL review. I'm a damn good worker, but I have a bit of a safety issue. I got a 3% raise... 26 cents. Good news? I just LOST 35. So... 9 cent loss for the YEAR.
"It's a TEMPORARY loss."
1. Temporary losses have LONG TERM results. I'm STILL trying to cope with the LAST 35 cents they cut from me...2+ YEARS ago.
2. NOTHING bad is EVER temporary... especially with THIS company.
Thursday:
"Don't worry about anything else, just focus on (This customer) [Customer name with-held, as I don't want to give them FREE advertising]."
It's a dull, mundane, BORING job that can be done by half-trained drunken monkeys.
I'd have to drink 4 pitchers of 180 Proof booze in order to kill as many brain cells as this task does. Of course, I'd die of alcohol poisoning before I ever get that far.
In short, every time they force me to concentrate on this customer, it's like telling me to get back into the fields and pick more cotton. I know that's a politically incorrect way of describing it, but it's accurate.
How can I meet or exceed management's goals for me, when they are the main obstacle?
Friday:
Not really anything to rant about here.
They may take our lives, but they'll never take our FRIDAYS!!
Like Loverboy says... "We're all working for the weekend."
I've busted my ass so much it's got a crack in it.
Time to renew the search for a second job and/or NEW job.
