Jerusalem gay pride parade

Nov 10, 2006 15:44

There was a gay pride march in Jerusalem today. Sort of. Actually, it turned into a rally at Hebrew University because of a week of rioting and threats of violence from Orthodox Jews. Not too surprising - last year, three of the marchers got stabbed.

Here's a fun article by Agape Press praising the Orthodox Jews for the success of their threats of violence.

And here's one from last year titled "Who stabbed the marchers at the Jerusalem homo-pride parade?" from Jews for Morality. (Apparently, the left-wing politicians and judiciary did the stabbing.)

"In a rare alliance, leaders of the Christian, Moslem, and Jewish Holy Land communities announce their strong opposition to this public desecration of Jerusalem." Yeah, you've found a non-violent group you can hate more than you hate each other. Way to go, assholes.

So apparently, violence is okay if your religious beliefs are offended. Wait... where have I heard that before?

Who stabbed the marchers last year?

The guy with the fucking knife.

I'm disappointed to see this sort of thing from Jews. You'd think centuries of persecution would have left some impression.
