In Hawaii part 3 : snippets

-Had AMAZING dim sum in china town on Wed (or was it Tues). All on a cart for us to choose and inexpensive as well. I think myself, dad, mom and Bethy spent 35-40 dollars on lunch.

-The First Thursdays Slam in Honolulu was spectacular. This is the one venue that I've been to with an audiance in the hundreds. For poetry. Great feature (whose name I sadly forget), as well as a spotlight from their youth team, & an open slam that had Iyeoka perform in. A pleasant surprise, but only I would end up in Hawaii hearing an east coast voice.

- Is there anything better than fresh papaya in the morning with Hawaii coffee?

- Manoa falls is spectacular in it's beauty. There may be a poem brewing about that wonderful place.

- I did get to see family on the 4th. My little cousins are filled with energy and adorable. I was more than happy to see Aunty Brownie, Aunty Rosie, Uncle Derran, Aunty Noi and my cousin whose the same age as me, Derra,

- Aunty Brownie telling stories about her and Uncle Minert's wild days was too much. Both her mother and my great-grandmother kept an eye on their grand children. Supposedly great-gramma Mac would send Aunty Nani over to count bottles LOL!!!
Aunty is going to have us over for genealogy purposes. This is one of the good things about having Mormon relatives.

-The family loves Kailua beach, of course. I never tire of seeing the Ko'olau Mountains touched with clouds. I swear they look like the Gods carved them out.

- Today we get to hear Olomana live.

first thursdays slam, relatives, manoa, dim sum, hawaii
