Baby! (cross-posted from Facebook)
I'm pregnant! 12 weeks and 5 days, to be exact. Due date is October 10th. 10/10/10, how awesome is that?
Stephen and I are apparently very good at this. Observe:
Jan 1 - decide to start trying
Jan 10 - 16 (approx) - conception
Jan 31 (FASS tech weekend) - find out that it worked!
Believe me, it was pretty hard not to say anything especially with the running joke of "what bomb is Stephen going to drop at Saturday audience warmups this year?" going around courtesy of Heather and many others. Not to mention the "you now have my permission to get your wife pregnant" we've been getting from Alice (the timing works out such that she'll be back at work from her mat leave about a week before I leave on mine.) Or me almost letting it slip at the FASS strike party by nearly freaking out about the wine in the sauce. (Natalie, Emily, and Ann, did you catch that?) Or several people asking if there was a particular reason we're thinking about getting a "family home." But we managed to keep it under wraps, until now.
We got the ultrasound and told our parents on Tuesday night at Passover (both sets of parents were there) and our workplaces on Wednesday so now we're telling the world!
We're super-excited and super-happy, and can't wait to welcome our ninja baby (he/she was hiding from the doppler at the midwife's, hence the moniker) into this crazy and wonderful world!

Now that it's past noon, we can come clean. For all your skeptics out there, the best part about this April Fool's joke is that IT'S COMPLETELY 100% TRUE! Gotcha! :) And the ultrasound pictures (on facebook) are real (they magnified the image), it's just a photo of a photocopy of the copy they gave us.
From the people who brought you Dr. Seuss and RickRoll wedding vows, and with the timing working out as it did, how could we not have a little fun with the announcement?
