A tale of two malls

Sorry, not a post about the wedding. It was amazing. Check out photos on Facebook/videos on YouTube (good list of them here: http://stephenanddiana.weddingannouncer.com)

So yesterday (aside from being our two-month-iversary!) I visited two malls. One, to order a dress for my choir (we all have to have the same one) was Frederick Mall. The other, the newly-renovated Conestoga to pick up some wedding gifts. Let me tell you, I have never seen such a stark contrast!

Frederick Mall (whose existence I was unaware of) shall henceforth be known as The Mall That Time Forgot. If you've been to the bowling alley, you've driven right past the mall, out at Frederick and the highway. It was insane! Every store looked like it was still stocking merchandise from the 70's, the movie theatre had a big sign up saying they do not take debit OR credit cards (cash only, then?), letters had fallen off almost every sign, and even the little kiddie rides in the middle of the mall hallway (a little merry-go-round, etc... who knew they were still around!) looked like they had seen better days.

By comparison, even old Conestoga would look shiny. But we went down the *new* wing of stores and the new food court (on the way to The Bay) and it was just amazing! Bright, shiny, new couches, new stores, neat looking food places (I had a crepe! And there's a Spring Rolls!) and of course other areas in the mall have been refurbished too. It's not quite finished, but it's definitely worth checking out.

Anyway, term is now half over. I'm teaching 3 again (haven't done that since Spring 08 and I forgot how tiring it is) but it's going pretty well. Next term it looks like I'll have only STAT 333! It's going to be awesome! :)
