FAQ : Layout Spotlight
What is a layout spotlight?
Layout spotlight is a monthly promotion done by design_kitten. Each month I pick out one layout that I find appealing and post the details at the design_kitten community.
Do I need to have a community?
No. This is about a layout spotlight, not a community spotlight. So, if you post journal layouts in your personal journal, you can still qualify.
What type of layout qualifies?
Any layout can qualify as long as it is coded for Live Journal.
How do I get a chance at a spotlight?
I usually like to find my own layout to spotlight but if you think you have a layout that deserves consideration, then please e-mail me at designkitten@gmail.com.
NOTE: Writing me an e-mail does NOT guarantee a spotlight. I choose spotlights based on my own criteria and tastes. E-mailing me might alert me to something I might be inclined to spotlight but it is by no ways a promise to spotlight your layout.
What is your criteria?
Usually I look for originality, style, great design and graphics and decent coding. This of course changes with the seasons and really is based on my own personal taste at the time.
How will I know if I've won a spotlight?
I will either e-mail you, post a note in your community or private journal.
