Castiel died! Castiel came back to life! Now he's the new sheriff in town/in heaven...I admit I kinda like that he got his angel powers (and then some) back. I had a feeling that he wouldn't stay dead because that death was rather sudden and you just knew that that wasn't the end of it.
Sooo, Lucifer (in Sam's body) and Michael (in Adam's body) BOTH went down the hole. I wasn't expecting Michael to go down as well... hmmm...
My favorite scene was when Sam was trying to wrench control away from Lucifer by remembering all the good times that he had with Dean. Three cheers for flashbacks...I love flashbacks like that...and the whooshing/wind sound in the background as it shifted from one flashback to another...such a beautiful flashback sequence all together. :D It made me smile... and I'm glad that the memories were enough to give Sam control back of his own body to cage Lucifer (even at the cost of his own life :().
Awww...poor Dean without Sam...but at least he did go to Lisa and she was able to comfort him. Definitely something he needed at the time, and I'm glad we weren't left with Dean sad and alone...it was nice to see Dean seeking others and being comforted at a time when he needs it the most. And also I'm glad that Bobby didn't die either (yay for Castiel's angel healing powers).
Intriguing cliffhanger... Sam is back on Earth already? Or did some time pass? I probably could have been paying more attention to Chuck's narration...but I do like that they gave the hint that Sam was still around...or what if Lucifer took back control? *is worried*
On a final note, I enjoyed Chuck's narrations...especially the bits about Sam and Dean growing up and the importance of the Impala. ♥ And I wonder why Chuck just disappeared at the end there -- maybe it was just because his prophet duties (the Winchester Gospel?) were done?
I'm wondering though if they'll have Castiel in some episodes in Season Six...or will he just sit on his perch in heaven from now on?
ETA: OMG, what? I just read somewhere that Chuck (the prophet) was God (all along? Or just in this episode?). My brain is blown. I must have missed something...but it does help to explain that disappearing act he did.
