Life On Mars.
OH. MY. GOD.
Let me repeat only slightly louder.
OH. MY. GOD!
Oh my buggery fuck. How good was the last five minutes? From when he comes back to 1973. I was like, 'Is that the edge of my seat? ... Yes, it is!' It was that good... The rest of the ep was a bit, meh. I didn't like. I mean, Frank Morgan? Not cool! Did not like! He was evil, and like the devil and totally not nice!
But the fact that Hyde 2612 was his hospital room was great! And that flying leap? How much is that like the first episode of season one? He just didn't have Annie there to save him (which was good, cause he needed to go back to save her, snog her and for them to fall in love and have lots of babies!)
And Gene calling Sam, 'Dorothy' was utter beauty! And the playing of Somewhere Over The Rainbow when he was back in 2006 was class... Made me think that the writers had watched the 100th ep of Scrubs (the one where J.D. gets his trainers painted red and Dr Cox calls his Dorothy, and Elliot gets courage, and one of them gets a heart, and someone gets a brain... Can't remember who now...)...
But he went back to save her! And snog her!! I am so happy that the writers didn't do the Mulder/Scully think of getting them together before the end of the show. I would have liked it in places (cause Annie/Sam was pretty) but having it there, all sunny and happy and "normal" (to Sam, with Gene in the car breaking the rules), was fantastic. I loved how they just fell together, and she got him to stay. He didn't fight. He didn't want to run to Hyde. He wanted to stay with her. Sorry Dad, but that's love!
And, 'I Hope That I Don't Fall In Love With You'? How much do I love that song? Serious, I have loved that song since the moment I heard it on Juliet Turner's album, but having it with Annie and Sam in his room? I loved it. :D
So yeah, on the whole, I liked the episode. Especially the Annie/Sam bits (even the slap). It was a satisfying end, in a slightly random way. And I think he's died and "gone to heaven" which for him would be 1973 with Annie... Ok, not quite died then (cause he don't get on with Ray) but you know what I mean...
I have like 70+ MCR icons to post over at vampiesicons, but I haven't the energy. That shall be done soon though, cause they're just gathering dust in my hard drive.
