"Nickel and Dimed" is going very well. I am almost done costuming it weeks before it is suppose to be finished. During our last production meeting Dr. Cahill yelled at the cast because apparently I should not have to track the cast down for costume fittings. She said "Justin is providing us with a service, he yes is your age but he is a professional and you will respect him and treat him as the professional he is." First off I don’t think of myself as a professional yet because I don’t have a piece of paper saying I am nor do I have all the experiences behind me for me to think of myself as a professional but if she says I am then, then I will take that title and run with it. I know I excel in costuming and yes I know I am good, sure I screw up from time to time, but with "professional" doesn’t? Needless to say Cahill put the fear of god in the cast... I got everyone but 3 people in the cast that night or the next day. I even got the new cast member I was unaware of, how cool is that? “Nickel and Dimed” opens in mid to late March all I have now to do is tweak a few fittings, dye some costume pieces (2 shirts yellow, 2 pants yellow, 4 shirts light pink, and 4 aprons hot pink), decided on makeup, hairstyles, and fit 2 guys and 1 girl, and make nametags for the characters in the show. I also have to badger all the cast members for the items they said they would bring in for me. Oh one plus for me was I went to Kmart and asked an associate if I could have an unused Kmart name badge… I got one; it was my Sunday highlight.
Rocky Horror: I am playing Frank next month. Kimmy asked if I would… I kind of was a little scared because YOU CANNOT SCREW UP THAT PART because everyone is watching you. I have to brush up on my Frank for next month. Also I don’t have some of those costume pieces… I have to look for like 2 of them; also I needed a floorshow corset and made one out of red ductape. Hey I did not feel the need to have costume pieces for every character especially if I am not playing that character permanently. So I hand forged one out of ductape and to my surprise it looked pretty screen accurate minus it being made out of ductape and hot glued… hey its only suppose to last for one night anyways. I still wonder if and what character I will have as a permanent character… I believe it is Riff for right now, and that’s fine but I would love Trixie and I want to play Janet one night because I big guy playing Janet would be too funny and fun! Also I think about our theme night that we do in the summer… I love the idea of Prom Night and hope we do that again, but I would love to do a Swinging 60’s Beach Party A Go-Go, Disney Night, Totally Awesome 80’s Night, or I would even be happy with just a beach party theme. But I don’t think I have any input on those matters, but alas those ideas would be fun.
