Runnin' around all over the fuckin' place part 2
Just finished watching the supermoon eclipse. That was awesome. Though i may have stared at it too hard as I started seeing red and white, blue and green static, crackling, just on the rim of the shadow. it was neat, like watching fire crackle, and seeing the shadow shift around, not like a round planet more like smoke.
Yeah, I went inside before I lost what few marbles I have left. hahaha
Okay, I ended just landing in SLC
So SLC con day one, i spent a good chunk of it alone at the con as Anna had to work, but meh, it was useful finding my way around. I stood in line and met Sean Astin, who was adorable as hell. The lady in front of me started bawling (lol) and Sean was a gentlemen about it, talked to her and it was so clear it was one of those ‘happiest moments’ for that lady and her daughter.
So I got up there and got a pic signed to my mom for her birthday, and got to chat for a couple of minutes. With him, unlike a lot of the others, there was no big rush.
What is it about the Tolkien Actors going squee over my coffee tat? LOL First Billy, then Sean, and later, Dean O’Gorman! HAH! I can’t remember if McTavish said anything but I think I was wearing three layers back in april hahah
So yeah Sean Astin was a sweetie. Been watching his stuff since 85 so it was cool to meet him.
Later when Anna showed up we raided the Vendors and bought a bunch of stuff (more buttons for the Big Bitch purse!) and some lego stuff…
Oh man, day three, i found Bofurs hat. for $20. SQUEE! I’ve wanted that goofy fuckin’ hat since I first saw it. hahahah and it FITS.
I can’t wait to show pics
Oh and I found a Lo Pan pop figure, will go wonderfully with Lightning :) and some cute little lego Jazz and Soundwave :D DIdn’t go all out getting stuff as I only had about $180 for the whole thing.
Anna soooo has a crush on Dean O’Gorman now. hahahaha I still want to get him and Kirk together so they can geek out about photography and Anna can just sit there and stare awhile. *snort* Gotta love Dean’s new Pornstache. Guess its for a movie coming soon so that’ll be amusing as hell.
Scott Wilson is very VERY adopted. I missed him in Calgary (i don’t count getting drunk 10 feet away from in at the Oak Room haha) so it was nice to actually talk to him. He got out and hugged poor starstruck Anna (who didn’t stop smiling for a good hour after) and chatted with her and we took a goofy ass selfie (which i will post later, maybe a pic post). Brought out my instinct to feed him til he’s all food coma’d.
Oh man, the Trolls were there. Bert, Tom and Bill!!!! :D the statues were great, hell, they had hair hanging in bad places, buttcracks hanging out, boogers, cataracts, what a blast. I had to get a couple POV shots.
The costumes were both good and bad. There were a couple amazing Groots and a couple of guys riding or being Raptors, a few hot-thighed Spartans, a lot of Danaerys types and dragons and shit… OH ! SPACEBALLS! Barf, Lonestar, Princess vespa, a couple of spaceballs, didn’t see Dark Helmet though… Red Pyramid from Silent Hill, Boxhead from the Evil Within, oh, and Vericus, now i know what the fuck you’re talking about with the weeping angels. Christ. I thought it was a statue so I went all close to one and the fucker moved and I screeeeeeeeeeeeamed like a girl and fled hahahahahha. That was fuckin’ embarrassing hahaha
Sad that I missed Anthony Daniels (C3po), Linda Blair and Felicia Day… Apparently Alan Tudyk showed up (said he was coming via Skype, then he actually CAME, and I fckin’ MISSED IT *cry*) Manu Bennett made it, Anna wanted to be the meat in a Phelps twins sammich but chickened out hahaha…
(Might end up going to an SPN con in Vancouver next August, so if you guys are interested, start saving!!)
No big celeb stories this time though, thank frick.

Last day we swung by and got a Dean Selfie and shopped for some props for Kirk, found Anna her purple Minion… and i can’t find Death’s ring ANYWHERE. But I found Bofur’s hat so that made up for it :D Also got a rather nice Gandalf painting/print for cheap (all the vendors had sales on the last day so that was awesome) and an assload of buttons (including my favorite Coulson quote and a couple from SPN)
It was a good chill time.
OH FUCK. yeah, I didn’t go sit on the Iron Throne though. Fuckin….. :( BUT, i DID get to grope Baby the Impala a little, pose by the trunk with weapons and got some posters and pictures done. I love that fuckin’ car. LOVE it. Too bad they wouldn’t let us sit inside it.
I hate getting pics of me but at the same time, when I’m an old kokum I can look back and giggle at em :D
